Apply for Admission

Who is eligible to apply?

If you have a bachelor's degree in any one of a broad spectrum of majors - the arts, social sciences, physical sciences, engineering, humanities, business, agriculture, among others - from an accredited university, you are encouraged to apply for admission to the Master of Community and Regional Planning degree program.

Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted for admission to the Master of Coommunity and Regional Planning degree program on a rolling, continuing basis. Students may be accepted for admission in the fall, spring, or summer sessions. For priority consideration for financial assistance, applicants are urged to submit completed applications by March 1st for fall semester admission and November 1st for spring semester admission.

Application for admission to the Master of Community and Regional Planning degree program includes simultaneous submission of materials to (1) the Office of Graduate Studies and (2)the Community and Regional Planning Office.

Application Processing

The Office of Graduate Studies forwards copies of the completed application form, official copies of the applicant's transcripts of previous academic work, and GRE and TOEFL scores ,to the Community and Regional Planning Program. The Faculty Admissions Committee reviews these materials, along with the letters of recommendation and the applicant's personal statement. The recommendation of the Faculty Admissions Committee is forwarded to the Office of Graduate Studies, where final action is taken on the application. The Office of Graduate Studies issues a "Certificate of Admission" to applicants who are admitted to the program.
